Westward we go...

Saturday we started out from Raleigh NC (our son's storage unit was there) to take household goods to our son and his wife in Washington State. I am creating a slide show with all the pictures from our travels.

The pictures aren't the best-- most are taken as the truck is tootling down the interstate so there is blurring, especially in the foreground. But they serve as a record of the states we've been in. We missed the "Welcome" sign for both Indiana and South Dakota, so we've been through 9 states so far: North Carolina (start) Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota.

Here is the slide show of some of the things we have seen so far. It's bee n a lot of fun -- just Joel and I :-)!

Heading west again :-)

Something from my email...

I received this in an email today- I thought it was appropriate for Father's Day,  (even though a day late!) beautiful and worth thinking about.

On Children
 Kahlil Gibran
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may

house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Just a quick post...
